President’s Message

On behalf of the women of the Junior League of Long Beach, I extend my warmest greetings!

Back in 1931, a passionate group of women in Long Beach united by their deep love for their community founded the Junior League of Long Beach. Today, that same spirit of commitment lives on in the 300+ incredible women who make up our league membership. We extend a warm welcome to all like-minded individuals who share our vision to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. Together, we are an unstoppable force for good.

Throughout our journey, we’ve spearheaded over 60 incredible projects that have brought joy, hope and positive change to the lives of countless children, families, and women in greater Long Beach. Some of these memorable projects include the Casa youth shelter which provides emergency shelter to youth in crisis, Rancho Los Cerritos which provides educational opportunities for school-age children, Bethune transitional center providing services to homeless students, The Children’s Dental Clinic, and Literary Women’s Festival of Authors. Additionally, the Junior League of Long Beach was a founding member of the Long Beach Human Trafficking Task Force where we joined hands with law enforcement and other organizations to fight against human trafficking. These projects and so many more stand as testaments to our unwavering dedication to making a difference in Long Beach.

Our service to the community continues! Our current community efforts focus on nurturing confidence and self-awareness among the youth in greater Long Beach. Our programs, Especially Me! and Kids in the Kitchen, are nurturing the leaders of tomorrow by instilling character development, life skills, and the joy of healthy living. We look forward to continuing working with our community partners to nurture confidence and self-esteem among the youth in our community.

What sets us apart as an organization is our unwavering focus on providing an encouraging space for our members to grow and learn. Here in the Junior League of Long Beach, we empower our members to learn through experience, take on new challenges, lead and be lifelong catalysts for change. We prepare our members to serve and lead in our community because tomorrow there will be new issues and new challenges to overcome—the women of the Junior League of Long Beach will continue to serve as voices for action, justice, hope and change.
