Arantxa Chavarria, President-Elect

Arantxa joined the Junior League of Long Beach in 2018 with a desire to deepen her community involvement and connect with women who share her commitment to service. Born and raised in the San Joaquin Valley, she relocated to Southern California more than 14 years ago to attend California State University, Long Beach, and has proudly called the area home ever since.

Over the course of her League journey, Arantxa has served in a variety of leadership roles. Among her most meaningful placements has been her work with the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Committee, an experience that sharpened her skills, broadened her perspective, and fostered friendships she values deeply.

Professionally, Arantxa is a dedicated public sector communications leader specializing in public relations and crisis communications. She began her career with the City of Long Beach and currently serves as Communications and Marketing Manager at Long Beach Transit, where she leads strategic messaging and community engagement efforts on behalf of one of the region’s essential public services.

Her professional expertise and her commitment to the League are a natural reflection of the same core values: clear communication, authentic community connection, and service that makes a tangible difference in people’s lives.

Outside of work and the League, Arantxa embraces an active lifestyle. She enjoys traveling to new destinations and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
