Nisha Varghese, President

Nisha joined the Junior League of Long Beach in 2019 after attending the League’s Kids in the Kitchen community fair at the invitation of a close friend. As a Southern California native with a passion for service, she quickly found a meaningful way to give back to her community through the League. Over the course of her Junior League journey, Nisha has chaired multiple committees, including Fund Development, Diversity, Equity, and Belonging, Placement, and New Member Training. She has also served on the Board of Directors as Nominating Chair and President-Elect and is honored to serve as the League’s current President.

Nisha earned a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from UC Berkeley, followed by a Master of Public Policy with a concentration in Health Policy from USC. She later received her Juris Doctor from Loyola Marymount University’s Loyola Law School. Professionally, Nisha works in Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance at Kaiser Permanente. She is also committed to serving the broader Long Beach community and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Long Beach Youth Chorus.

Nisha values building strong communities, fostering meaningful connections, and creating opportunities for others to lead and grow. She is continually seeking opportunities to develop as a leader, strengthen relationships, and make a lasting impact through service. As the League celebrates 95 years of service, leadership, and impact, Nisha is inspired by the generations of women who have shaped the organization’s legacy and is excited for all that can be accomplished together through service, connection, and leadership. She looks forward to a year of purpose, growth, and continued impact as the League moves forward—together.
