Member Spotlight – March 2023

This month’s member spotlight is Ashley Strickland! She is celebrating her first year with the Junior League of Long Beach and is serving on the New Member Training Committee. Ashley has always enjoyed volunteering her time and doing what she could to help her community and she has now reached a place in both her career and personal life to finally have the time to give back in a more meaningful way. “I found JLLB – or maybe JLLB found me – at the perfect time.”

Ashley grew up in Carrollton, GA – a relatively small town west of Atlanta. She attended the University of West Georgia where she earned a BA in Psychology and a BS in Criminology. She then moved to Washington, DC out of college because she knew she wanted to work for the Federal government. She landed a job in Long Beach in April 2007, and moved out west for her job as a Criminal Investigator for the U.S. Department of Transportation/Office of Inspector General. She also serves as the National Secretary for the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA) and as VP for the local Chapter of FLEOA.

In her down time, Ashley loves to travel. Right now, she and her husband are on a mission to visit all of the National Parks in the USA. They have already visited nine and this summer they are taking a road trip where they plan to see six more. Ashley is already planning a trip in June 2024 to check off four to five of the parks in Alaska!
